In this day and age with algorithms deciding what media we consume and the segregation of political groups, Jarné van Zetten and I wanted to create an analogue way of broadening perspectives. Food has always been a connecting factor between people, so through food we aimed to expose people to cultures other than their own. ‘De Cultuurmuur’ facilitates a small introduction to an iconic cultural snack with an explanation of how it was created. Served on a plate printed with art from the same country as the snack. As you eat, you get to read information about your food and the art accompanying it. Resulting in a better understanding of other people's background, and in turn, broadens perspectives.
